Rachel – Welcome to the Family
October 13, 2008 by shanaschmidtHelen…Welcome to the Family!
October 1, 2008 by shanaschmidtMy name is Helen Guda and I am a passionate trainer and counselor because I believe in human growth, even if sometimes the perspectives may be bleak. After having worked in the field of education in Aruba for 27 years, I decided to start my own consultancy so I would be free to do the work I love. Conscious Discipline is definitively a big part of that.
When I first heard Dr. Becky Bailey speak in 1997 I instantly knew that this was what I had been looking for. A positive alternative to offer to parents who often get only blame from professionals.
We invited Dr. Becky Bailey and she visited Aruba twice for workshops and after that Conscious Discipline took root in Aruba. Two people from our foundation against Child Abuse became instructors.
In 2005 I went to the week long workshop and it was then that my heart knew that teaching Conscious Discipline was a big part of my life’s mission. CD2 in 2007 was another highlight for me, because of the tremendous boost it gave me in my personal development and the Cd2 family I got there has been in inspiration to me ever since.
Starting last year I have given various workshops to teachers and parents and I keep getting requests for more. Preparation of the workshops includes translation and adaptation of the material to our local language Papiamento, which is fun to do.
Apart from CD workshops I also give other kinds of trainings but because CD becomes more and more part of me, I use the principles in all the trainings and people respond to them with enthusiasm.
My mission is now to stimulate more people in Aruba to go to the CD trainings so we can have a bigger team over here and can go further than giving trainings by also offering guidance in the implementation of CD.
Amparo – Welcome to the Family!!

Amparo Morillas, 55 years young and I loving it. I was reading an article titled ‘ Because older brains have new strengths’ and I felt better than ever. They said that people my age are a better judge of character, our brain is more efficient and we are less neurotic than we used to be. They did not mention our wisdom, energy … etc, I assume that the writer was a young fellow. Anyway, I am living my best life now. I have two extraordinary daughters, both of them college graduates. Ana Maria, my oldest is married and has a beautiful baby girl. Catalina is a graduate student in Atlanta.
Conscious Discipline, especially the seven powers for self control and the seven basic skills of discipline, taught me that the principles that governed my daily life were indeed the ones that harmonized with the universe. I passionately embraced the teachings of Dr. Becky Bailey, applied them to every situation and started my CD journey two years ago. I am a teacher for special needs children in Miami. At the present time, I am also training the teachers of three schools on a weekly basis, training the teachers of my church, giving workshops to parents, and mentor a group of teachers in Colombia ( South America). In August 2007, I was part of the CD training team for administrators, teachers and assistants of United Cerebral Palsy of Miami. In 2008, I was in charge of the CD training for the new teachers and assistants.
I will be a CD presenter at NAEYC 2008 Annual Conference and Expo this year in Dallas Texas.

Wanted to inform you of changes in my office hours.
Beginning the week of August 4th I will be working on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s from 10:00am – 3:00pm CST. Of course I am available to read e-mail and respond to your phone calls as needed outside of those set hours. As with many of you, my children are busy with practices, games, meets, school functions, and so on therefore evening scheduling can get tricky. We’ll work it out and together we’ll soar!
Wishing you well as you begin your year!

July 10, 2008 by shanaschmidtNew products!
June 16, 2008 by shanaschmidtA note from Bryan regarding new products:
“…there is going to be a bit of a delay in sending out the new puppet and Brain Boogie Booster samples? I am running a bit shorthanded right now, and with preparation for the upcoming workshops, shipping of the new product samples has been delayed. My target date for getting them out has now been amended to the week of CD1 Session A-the week of June 22nd, and it will likely be late in that week. I am hoping to be able to meet that target.
Please give my personal apologies for the delay.
Thanks,
Bryan”
Thanks for understanding!
